Maya Review : A writer who creates another world with his pen and paper

A writer is one who creates another world with his pen and paper. But we aren't aware of the pain they go through to create such fantasy worlds. Ani IV Sasi's Maya talks about Ashok, a film writer who is struggling to create a commercial story for his next film and the ways he creates different sets of stories to reach his final destination. Some stories don't have a long runtime or elaborate set works. Maya works beautifully in its short runtime, this 11 minute short story is full of life and tracks the hardship faced by a writer. Ashok Selvan easily transforms into the character and the way he enacts various situations is a treat. Priya Anand as the mysterious Maya makes an impressive appearance. It's the dialogues that keeps a film alive and I really loved the dialogues and the way Ashok presented it. Music by Ron Ethan Yohann and Visuals by Divakar Mani keeps the short lively and makes it more charming. On the whole Maya is a simple, sweet and adorable story from the makers of Ninnila Ninnila.
